The Make or Break Moments

"I will not give away my daughter to a man who cannot teach the word of God", said Dr. Myles Munroe.
At the time I heard him say this, I began to ponder over the connection between knowing God's word and giving a daughter's hand in marriage. But now it is becoming clearer to me!
God required each king of Israel to write every word of the law on a scroll when they ascended the throne (Deut.17:18). God did not want a 'stranger' to his word ruling over His people! If God didn't want anyone unfamiliar with His law as king, why would you want him or her as a spouse?!
Solomon counsels, "Remember now your creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come..." Eccl.12:1
That the difficult days will come is a certainty. And when they come, you want someone with divine connection fighting at your side!
And whether you or your marriage is made or broken during these difficult times is a big function of who your partner is!
Dear single Christian professional, don't be overly enamored by anything external like beauty or a healthy bank balance. You see, life's difficult moments don't usually respond to any of these!
The closer your partner is to God and His word, the greater your chances of survival!
